Post 9 - Peer Evaluations

I have mixed feelings about the peer evaluation process that we do in our English Composition courses.  On one hand, I enjoy getting feedback on my papers because I'm always looking for ways to improve on my coursework during my college education.  I also enjoy helping my fellow classmates with their writing and their ability to earn a good grade on their essays and papers.  I think that I provide them with good criticisms and suggestions.  The only thing that I struggle with is when I'm given papers to look over that contain poor grammar and are difficult to read and make sense of.  I read whenever I have spare time, so reading a paper that does not read easily presents more of a challenge to me that the sometimes complicated text of the nonfiction books that I enjoy reading.

  1. I do not like this at all. I don't want to read my peers work and I don't want them reading mine. They're not professors nor am I. I don't even feel confident in my writing so why would I be confident giving my opinion on anothers paper.

  2. At first I didn't quite like this idea. But as I continued in the class and kept doing it, I begin to actually enjoy it. It helps me a lot in my writing and I also get the chance to help others as well.
